Chris Bisson is a small collegiate middle infielder originally from a little Canadian town on Lake Ontario about 40 miles from Rochester, New York. Bisson became a full-time starter with Kentucky during his sophomore season after going undrafted and unnoticed coming out of high school and during his freshman year as a Wildcat. He was Kentucky’s shortstop for his sophomore campaign, but moved over to second to accommodate a better defensive shortstop during his junior year this year. He’s pretty much a two-tool player, perhaps only one depending on who you believe. His hit tool is either fringe-average or average, and he has next to no power with wood. However, he has plus speed and he led the Cape Cod League with 36 stolen bases last summer. Bisson is more of a fringe-average defender that fits best at second base, as his range is fringy, too. His arm is close to average, and he handled shortstop by utilizing a quick throwing motion and quick hands. Some scouts believe he can parlay his speed and hit tool into an average starting second base job at the Major League level, so he might be drafted as high as the third round, though he fits better in the fourth to seventh round range as a potential utility infielder with the skills to play the entire infield and center field. He should be signable after a solid junior campaign that has involved more of the same with his tools and skills.
