Bullet Points

Bullet points, brief observations from Burlington. I will have more in-depth stuff in the newsletter for subscribers, but here are a few brief notes.

*Derrick Robinson of Burlington (Royals system) is very, VERY fast. However I've got some major doubts about his bat. He did not show me much bat speed and his discipline is mediocre.
*Wisconsin outfielder Kuo Hui Lo looks like a sleeper. Good opposite field pop, runs well, decent discipline.
*Tony Butler is a very articulate and intelligent young man. Got to chat with him for several innings.
*Quickest bat I saw on the trip belonged to Steve Hill of Quad Cities.

Dickerson/Bianchi
Did you get a chance to see Joe Dickerson or Jeff Bianchi?  Dickerson has had a nice season, while Bianchi fell off a cliff.

Thoughts on these two?

Dickerson
Done for the season. Dislocated shoulder, I believe. Going to Hawaii though this fall/winter for some more AB's. For that matter, Bianchi is going to Hawaii as well.

Robinson
What is Derrick Robinson rated on the 20-80 Scouting Scale, John?

speed
I'd give him a 70 on speed

BA and PG Crosschecker gave him an 80
He had the fastest recorded 60 yard time in PG history at 6.19.  Xavier Avery may have taken the record from him this year.

Honestly, if Robinson isn't an 80 runner, no one is.

robinson
That's based on what I saw in Burlington. He was not running 80 in Burlington, not in the games I saw. Not saying that he doesn't, just saying that he wasn't when I saw him.
