Austin Romine, C, California HS (4th round to Pirates in mock draft)
Ryan Pope, RHP, Savannah College of Art and Design (not selected in mock draft)
Brad Suttle, 3B, Texas (supplemental round to Dodgers in mock draft)
Adam Olbrychowski, RHP, Pepperdine (not selected in mock draft)

COMMENT:
Same first round pick, which is intriguing. The Mock draft has a higher upside with the third and fourth round guys who dropped due to signability in real life. Suttle was more popular in the mock draft than in the real draft apparently. Which class would you rather have? If the Mock guys are signable (and the Yankees have the money to do it) that's quite attractive, but on the other hand I like both Pope and Suttle, too.

in the later rounds

RHP Greg Peavey
SS Carmen Angelini
RHP Gregory Holle
C Chase Weems

and several others. Most of which have already shown willingness to sign. This could be an incredible draft for the Yankees system if they flex their financial muscles. Already two of the tougher signs have inked in Manny Barreda and Justin Snyder

Holle

My family is originally from the Albany, NY area and many still live there. Holle was quoted in the local papers as saying that, since it is the Yankees, he is leaning toward signing rather than going to college (I believe he had an Ivy League commitment). I don't have a link, but it was in an Albany area paper.

ironic that the Yankees actually picked Venditte in the real draft... 43rd round... even though he stated that he wouldn't sign.

Suttle and Romine

Those were two very good picks, I thought. Romine's offensive potential is tantalizing, and Suttle's bat seems like a pretty sure thing. Is he comparable to Chase Headley as a hitter, just to throw a name out there?
