New Blog: Backing the Pack for NC State Fans!

Upcoming

San Diego Padres (breath of fresh air after Astros and Tigers)
Boston Red Sox
Florida Marlins
New York Yankees
Los Angeles Dodgers

I am about to accellerate my writing pace dramatically. Only problem would be if ice storm interferes.

UPDATE: Still have power as of 3:00 AM, but the outages are starting here in Lawrence and the freezing rain is still coming down. Ah, Kansas.

How are the padres
a breath of fresh air? They have chase headley, nick schmidt, and cedric hunter...whopee....

btw what are your thoughts on cedric hunter--he was #1 on the BA list last year, but #8 this year--is it because he hasn't shown any power...he is still only 19/20

Blanks
Padres also have Kyle Blanks, who could be a big boom or bust type...I think Antonelli is going to be very good however, and Headley has a chance to be very good as well at the MLB level.

cedric hunter
I would think the BB/K ratio dropping from 41/25 to 48/79 would be a big part as well.  Hunter stole eight bases and got caught 9 times.  His OPS dropped 200 points from last year.  He did jump from rookie ball last year to A ball this year, skipping low A almost entirely.

While power is a concern it certainly isn't the only one.

Though not full of hte
high profile guys, the Pads do have a lot fo the solid guys that have baseball IQs off the charts and the make-up that Fuson prefers over the percieved higher reward guys. A lot of guys like Eric Sogard, Mitch Canham, Kellen Kulbacki, Drew Miller, and the last of the S&Fs, Matt Latos, who quite ironically has some maturing to do and that is why it ook so long for him to sign, due to some astronomical demands in terms of bonus money that were deemed "unreasonable".

That is probably why John is so excited, because these are the types of guys scouting types love to watch play....but just a guess.

Boston
What Boston Dark Horse prospect are you most excited about? Not necessarily an unknown, just a guy you think is most underappreciated right now.
This is me being polite.

Kansas
I love Kansas.  I am coming home from college at the end of the week, so imagine what it will be like for me.  I'm going from 70 degrees an sunny in San Antonio into the heart of the Kansas winter.  Ah, Kansas.
