Slow first half, good 2nd half
Better 2nd half when he moves to center field. Project him at .254/7/26 before all star break. Could be the next Soriano starting in 2k8

very optimistic
I wonder if everyone has latent feelings for Weeks, saw that the first few projections were positive, then all projected positive.

by limozeen on Jan 24, 2007 1:49 AM EST reply actions

positive?
i'm not sure that i'm positive with the kid's raw ability...could he go south?  absolutely....he has too much talent to not produce if he's healthy...however, he could struggle to put up 100 games and fight through injuries all year that kills his numbers, but if healthy, these numbers make sense...

by biggentleben on Jan 24, 2007 7:15 AM EST up reply actions

I dunno
seems a little positive to project the best non-Utley 2B season (which I'd say about 80% of these projections do) to a guy who hasn't put up a .770+ OPS yet.  Yeah, injuries, etc...I know.  Still, these projections strike me as very optimistic.

Of 28 projections, only 4 have him hitting <20 HR at below .280.  I'd have to think he's got a greater than 14% chance of doing that.

Rickie Weeks is pretty sweet
Remember, Weeks has a distinct "ability" to get hit by pitches. I'll include the HBP (he'll get hit 20 times, easy) in the walk totals.
