Q&A with Chris Coste
Although at age 32 Chris Coste is not considered a prospect, he has torn up AAA since entering affiliated ball from the independent Northern League.
Today, he answered a number of questions on my site, www.SethSpeaks.net. I think it is rather fun and interesting. Check it out.
Although at age 32 Chris Coste is not considered a prospect, he has torn up AAA since entering affiliated ball from the independent Northern League. In 2005, he was an International League All-Star as a member of the Scranton-Wilkes Barre team.
I had the good fortune of playing ball with him for a couple of years at Concordia College in Moorhead Minnesota. What a great guy and a wonderful ball player.

Also, are there other 'older' guys who have spent years in the minor leagues, always performing, but never getting the call. I think of Chris Heintz with the Twins who was finally called up in September this year.

Chris Coste was a former Indians' farmhand!
Yes, I remember Chris Coste with the Buffalo Bisons, the AAA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, about 4-5 years ago - he hit quite well and thought he might have had a chance with the Indians, but that never came to pass.
He could be useful for someone if someone gave him a chance - 32 isn't that old. He could be a useful bench guy, backup DH/1B/C, pinch hitter.
Thanks for the interview and the link.
Take care and have a great 2006! :-)
