Twins Top 50 Prospects

This week, I am working on a series to show the Top 50 Twins prospects.

Star-divide

It is hard to argue that the Twins farm system is one of the strongest in baseball, especially in terms of pitching. This week, I am posting a look at my Top 50 Twins Prospects, and I would love to hear your thoughts.
Tuesday was Prospects 36-50.
Wednesday was Prospects 21-35.
Today shows Prospects 11-20.
Tomorrow, I'll post my Top 10.
I'd love to hear any thoughts on it.

Prospectdom?
Doesn't the quality of prospects begind to fade after about 15? After that are they really even prospects? I know nothing of the Twins prospects, but I find it hard to believer than any team can have 50 prospects.

As far as tops, Liriano is the best pitching prospect in baseball right now. Assuming Felix Hernandez isn't a prospect, and instead an alien being sent to Earth to strikeout hitters and induce weak grounders to second base.

wealth of draft picks
I think the reason it is easy to get excited about a lot of the players (What i think makes a prospect) in the Twins farm system is the wealth of draft picks we've had over the past few years.  I think looking at the list there are many low level prospects that will probably fizzle out at higher levels.  The twins probably have 20 some guys who might be on major league rosters eventually... just my opinion.

Not quite forever
Torii Hunter had 102 RBI in 2003 and Corey Koskie had 103 in 2001.

but, what is wrong with being a MLB utility guy? Bikini model or not, I hope they give him another 200 at bats in Beloit before sending to Fort Myers.

I would agree his bat is behind, but disagree about his fielding. IMO he looked good in the field. Good hands, good range, and a decent arm. I have had a chance to talk to trevor off the field and he is a great guy as well. May not have the bat to play ss in the bigs, but he is one to root for.

Really, I would say that through the top 30, many of them have a legitimate shot at getting ot the big leagues and contributing. Whether it is with the Twins or another team, we'll see. And there are a few guys after that that could at least make it. And believe me, there were 7 or 8 others that just missed the list. guys like Willie Eyre, Danny Santiesteban, Richard Sojo, Caleb Moore, Eli Tintor, and others.

i saw the list last year, and i thought it was an eye opener to some great sleeper prospects before coming into 05... even guys that were ranked below 30 and 40 were interesting.. great job Seth.. it would be awesome if all MLB teams had some fan-sites doing top 50's like this .. (and the pictures are cool too).. looking forward to the new one

Fair enough about Plouffe, he could very well fizzle out.  His downside is Nick Punto, his upside isn't quite Tejada, but perhaps a .275/.340/.450 type guy and legitimate* Gold Glove candidate.  Agree?

I voted for Kubel because because the Twins offense desperately needs a prospect that is a position player to pan out. A guy like him along with Mauer in the lineup would possibly make guys such as Cuddyer and Morneau better, too.
