Round Four

If someone can handle the picks right now, I'd like to liveblog rounds four and five, to make it similar to what we did with the Mock Draft. After that I will post a regular commentary thread.

So far my migraine remains in force and is getting worse. The normal way I deal with this is turn off the lights and take a nap, but I certainly can't do that today!

John is the man!
Terrell Davis didn't pack it in during Super Bowl XXXII because of a migrane and you know John Sickels isn't going to call it a day because its Christmas!

Hmm
I could try the second half of the fourth again, but I might be busy.  Prefer not to, but anything I can do to help.

Pellot
From http://www.perfectgame.org/2005/stories/02_07_05puerto_rico_showcase.cfm

"No prospect on the island has improved his draft status in the past month as  much as Pellot. Pellot stood out at this week's Puerto Rico showcase, running a 6.6 60 yard dash and having a solid BP. On the second day of the event the right-handed hitting Pellot showcased his power by hitting a double off the right field fence that almost left the yard. At shortstop, Pellot shows outstanding actions and a strong arm. He just needs to be a bit more consistent. Pellot was also outstanding in last month's PG World Showcase in Florida."

he can lok forward to spending time
in low A with ambiorix concepcion, jamar hill and all sorts of other projects. with less draft picks this year, why not go take a shot at a guy who falls b/c of signability issues or steal a guy away from college with a big offer?

I don't get it
Help me understand anyone.

Why would the A's take Vincent Mazzaro and James Schull with the last two when they could have had  Barry Zito 2 Ryan Mullins from Vanderbuilt and high ceiling HS lefty Brian Matusz. Both of those there is one HS and one college, just the two guys the A's didn't take seem better than the others.

by ohad @ Minor League Ball on Jun 7, 2005 4:01 PM EDT reply actions

Don't think so
I don't see how a projected 3-4 rounder will be asking for big money. I can see Matusz getting a nice sum of money, but cmon. Not more than Richie Robnett, Danny Putnam got last year.

by ohad @ Minor League Ball on Jun 7, 2005 4:06 PM EDT up reply actions

WTF?
dude, chill, who says the guys your like are better than what any given team is drafting?

I'm starting to get a migrane with all this talk of such & such H.S. pitcher was overdrafted. No matter how many websites you read you don't know these players better than scouts.

by natsfan2005 @ Minor League Ball on Jun 7, 2005 4:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah i should chill out
Your right. Look at my comment, and look at yours. I'm asking an honest question, and you are somehow aggravated by that. Sorry.

Don't know much about him... I've got a Cardinals draft update on Redbirds Report and I'd appreciate some comments from any Cards fans who know anything about this guy.
