Hey everyone. My name is Carlos Gonzalez (no, I don't play for the Rockies haha), otherwise known as raysman1, and I'll be drafting for the Marlins this year. I'm a big Rays and Marlins fan, and I was able to handle the Rays draft last year, it was a very fun thing for me to do, and I can't wait to get going.
With that being said, let's go.
#2 overall ($6,821,800) Options here: Kolek, Aiken, Rodon
#36 overall ($1,573,900) - K. Medeiros, L. Weaver, N. Burdi, M. Wilson, B. Davidson, M. Harrison
#39 overall ($1,457,600) J. Sheffield, A. Verdugo, T. Forbes, C. Gillaspie, M. Gettys (doubt he drops)
#43 overall ($1,316,000) S. Adams, J. Bukaukas, M. Imhof, K. Weisenberg,
#77 overall ($726,000) D. Cease (TJS?),
#106 overall ($499,500)
#108 overall ($490,000)
That adds up to 7 picks over 4 rounds, including the compensation selections.
Right now I'm going to draft as if I were running the real draft for the Marlins. I'm not going to mimic their drafting style, and that's just me, I guess.
At #2, I've got Kolek, Aiken, and Rodon. One of the three that I just mentioned will be available there, I don't think there's any doubt to that.
I'll begin to add players over the next few days that we could target with the other picks. If you have any ideas, comments, or just anything that you want to share, please post here. It's fun to do this on your own, but having other people critique you, or just throw you an idea really adds to the realism.
Great to be here again, and good luck to everyone!
