My trip to Washington DC to speak about autism at the Academy of Radiology Conference is going very well so far. When this posts, I will be on my way to the National Institutes of Health for the morning session.
Thanks to the kindness of conference organizer Michael Kalutkiewicz I was invited to take part in a tour of the West Wing of the White House yesterday, conducted by his charming wife Katherine. This was a once-in-a-lifetime thing, especially for a history buff like me, to be able to actually see the Cabinet Room and especially the Oval Office. We weren't allowed to take many photos, but I did get a photo in front of the podium at the Press Room.
Current plans call for me to return home Tuesday, although the winter storm about to strike the Midwest may get in the way. I will keep you updated.
Consider this an open discussion thread and have a good Monday.
