So it's settled with the first round: If Manea somehow falls to us for whatever reason, we'll take him, other than that, we'll go with whoever is left to us in this board
As for second round options, some were hit on/mentioned in the last MOD as well. In the second round, the A's have picks 63 and 71 ($885,600 and $782,900, respectively). There looks to be more HS lefty talent as well as OF (college and high school) talent. Depending on who we take in the first round, I'd like to at least grab a college and high school guy. However, if we grab a college guy in the first round, taking two high school guys here is perfectly feasible.
A run down of potential targets (based on rankings from BA, Kiley McDaniels, Keith Law, and Jonathan Mayo and personal preferences)
HS LHP (in order): Jake Brentz, Blake Taylor, Hunter Green, Garrett Williams, AJ Puk, Stephen Gonsalves, Chris Kohler, and Jonah Wesely
College LHP (top target 1st, then in no particular order):Cody Reed, Dillon Overton, Tom Windle, Kent Emanuel, Stephen Tarpley, Matt Boyd (senior sign, money saver), Aaron Brown.
HS RHP (meh): Dustin Driver, Chandler Eden, Carlos Salazar
College RHP (more meh): Teddy Stankiewicz, Tyler Skulina (redraft), Trevor Williams, Myles Smith
HS Bats (top target first, then no particular order): Terry McClure OF, Matt McPhearson OF, Dustin Peterson SS/3B, Cavan Biggio 2B/OF(signability issues), Jordan Paroubeck OF, Ryan McMahon 3B (signability issue, USC commit), Justin Williams OF
College Bats (top target first, then no particular order): Jared King OF, Mike O'Neill OF, Andrew Knapp C
I really have no order I'd put all of these guys in outside of the top targets.
As of now my top 5-10 at the 63 spot would be: Jake Brentz, Blake Taylor, Terry McClure, Cody Reed, Tom Windle, Jared King, Hunter Green, Dustin Peterson, Dillon Overton, Kent Emanuel, Matt McPhearson.
I'm not really interested in the righty pitchers that are ranked around both those spots though.
Again, though, I really have to stress that it's up in the air at this point depending on who or who doesn't fall to our spot here.
