sort of goes off matt's question for me about minor league stats being indicative of future success.

there are plenty of milb studs that never take in the majors, and lots that do. there are even more players that will only ever be minor leaguers, through no fault of their own...it's just what they had to work with.

i'm wondering who was the best guy that got his shot, not because of his minor league performance, but attrition/injury/etc. above him.
