Well, we had our tiebreaker, but it didn't solve anything. After waiting a day and a half, it's still a tie between Rosenthal and Zunino. Looking at the results, I'm pretty confident that even if I waited and someone edged ahead, that the other would have won the following round. So, I'm going to call them co-winners of this round, 15A and 15B, and we'll move on directly to round 17.
To recap, voting totals for others last round were 13 for Arenado, 11 for Archer, 5 for Perez, 4 for Franklin, 4 for Miller, 3 for Arcia, 2 for Ryu, 1 for Garcia and 1 for Iglesias. No votes for Tyler Skaggs.
Our current list
7. Michael Wacha, Cardinals, Pitcher
10. Christian Yelich, Marlins, Outfielder
13. Sonny Gray, A's, Pitcher
15B, Trevor Rosenthal, Cardinals, Pitcher
We'll add everyone who got write in votes last round, so Arcia,Iglesias and Avisail Garcia come back on the ballot this round. We'll also put Jared Cosart on for the first time. We'll temporarily drop Tyler Skaggs. We'll put Alex Wood on the to be added list. Loeonys Martin and Dan Straily will be on the ballot next round. Anyone getting zero votes this round will be dropped and won't be added to the ballot again, although of course they will still be available for write in votes.Temporarily Dropped- Leonys Martin 0 votes (round 12), Dan Straily, 0 votes (round 13), Khris Davis 0 votes (round 14), Juan Lagares 0 votes (round 14), Tyler Skaggs 0 votes (round 15)
That leaves Jedd Gyorko, AJ Pollock, Matt Adams and Alex Wood on the to be added soon list. Let me know of any other players you want added to the rotation, although consider that the plan is to go out to round 20, do one final "honorable mention" round and then stop, so there is no point adding players who you don't think are in or near at least the top 25-30.
So who is the #17 prospect for future performance among last year's rookies? If any clarification is needed, we are essentially rating this group of players for their future as if they were still prospects, the same as we did last year when they had their rookie eligibility. As a reminder voting is by +1 for your #1 candidate, and +2 for your #2 candidate.
