Hyun-Jin Ryu wins the voting for round 21 pretty easily with 23 points. Again, it feels like we are passing a tier, as Ryu is the last guy who was on the ballot in the early rounds to finally get on the list, and the votes are very spread out behind him, with Arcia next, all the way back at 6 points, followed by Avisail Garcia with 5, Nick Franklin and Jedd Gyorko with 4, Matt Adams and Juan Lagares with 3, 2 for Tyler Skaggs and 1 for Leonys Martin. No votes for Jose Iglesias. Our current list:
7. Michael Wacha, Cardinals, Pitcher
10. Christian Yelich, Marlins, Outfielder
13. Sonny Gray, A's, Pitcher
15B. Trevor Rosenthal, Cardinals, Pitcher
17. Chris Archer, Rays, Pitcher
19. Martin Perez, Rangers, Pitcher
20. Brad Miller, Mariners, Infielder
21. Hyun-Jin Ryu, Dodgers, Pitcher
This will be our 22nd round and our lsat "regular" round". After this round we will do a final "lighting round" in which we identify 3 more players to close out our list at 25. Everyone got a vote last round except Iglesias and he has gotten support in prior rounds,so I'm gong to cut him some slack and leave him on the ballot as well.
Temporarily Dropped- Jared Cosart 0 votes (round 17)
We are returing Dan Straily to the ballot this round. I doubt we will be dropping anyone for our final round, but will get Cosart back on, and Gregorius on for the first time in that round. You are of course welcome to vote for Khris Davis or Alex Wood, both of whom got on the ballot earlier but found no support, or any other rookie who has not gotten on the ballot, by write in.
So who is the #22 prospect for future performance among last year's rookies? If any clarification is needed, we are essentially rating this group of players for their future as if they were still prospects, the same as we did last year when they had their rookie eligibility. As a reminder, voting is by +1 for your #1 candidate, and +2 for your #2 Tweet Share
