Martin Perez wins round 18 with a strong 24 points, as half the people voting in this round picked him as #1. Looks like I'm going to have to find someone new to vote for myelf. Hyun-Jin Ryu comes in second with 12 points, followed by Brad Miller with 9, Oswald Arcia with 8, Juan Lagares with 3, Matt Adams with 2, Nick Franklin with 1, Khris Davis with 0 and Alex Wood with 0.
Our current list:
7. Michael Wacha, Cardinals, Pitcher
10. Christian Yelich, Marlins, Outfielder
13. Sonny Gray, A's, Pitcher
15B. Trevor Rosenthal, Cardinals, Pitcher
17. Chris Archer, Rays, Pitcher
This will be our 20th round. Based on recent input, I mentioned last round that we are going to go through round 22 and then do a final round in which we identify 3 more players to close out the list. I also mentioned that we would be permanently dropping players who got no votes in round 19, so two rather interesting players, Khris Davis and Alex Wood won't be returning to the ballot barring a write-in campaign.
Permanently Dropped- Khris Davis 0 votes (round 19), Alex Wood 0 votes round 19
That leaves AJ Pollock still to get on in round 21. I'll take another look and see if there is someone else we haven't considered who jI like nearly as well as those already in the rotation and if so I'll look to get him on the ballot in round 22, or you can make a suggestion.
So who is the #20 prospect for future performance among last year's rookies? If any clarification is needed, we are essentially rating this group of players for their future as if they were still prospects, the same as we did last year when they had their rookie eligibility. As a reminder voting is by +1 for your #1 candidate, and +2 for your #2
