It was neck and neck for quite a while but Michael Wacha emerges with the most points (27), not to mention the most first place and overall votes, to become the second straight Cardinals pitcher coming off the board. He edges Zack Wheeler, with 22 points and Julio Teheran with 18 points. Christian Yelich is next with 8 points, followed by Anthony Rendon with 4 points, Sonny Gray with 2 points and Mike Zunino with 2 points. No votes for Tony Cingrani or Chris Archer.
7. Michael Wacha, Cardinals, Pitcher
I'm going to temporarily drop Tony Cingrani and Chris Archer.
I'm going to put Nolan Arenado back on the ballot. I'm going to put Jose Iglesias and Hyun-Jin Ryu on the ballot for the first time. Juan Lagares, Martin Perez and a third candidate to be determined will be added to the ballot the following round.
So who is the eighth best prospect for future performance among last year's rookies? If any clarification is needed, we are essentially rating this group of players for their future as if they were still prospects, the same as we did last year when they had their rookie eligibility. As a reminder voting is by +1 for your #1 candidate, and +2 for your #2 candidate.
