Some very interesting discussion on the last thread as Shelby Miller takes the #6 spot on our list with 27 points. Michael Wacha is next with 18 points, followed by Julio Teheran with 14, Zack Wheeler with 12, Mike Zunino with 2, Sonny Gray with 2 and Martin Perez, Juan Lagares (write in) and Christian Yelich (write in) all with 1. Zero points for Salazar and Rosenthal.
Jurickson Profar wins round 5 of the voting with 33 points. Although Profar won by a substantial margin, the margins were very tight between the next four, with Shelby Miller and Zack Wheeler both at 12, Julio Teheran at 11 and Michael Wacha at 7.Sonny Gray gets 2 points, Martin Perez and Danny Salazar get one point each. No votes for Nolan Arenado.
5. Jurickson Profar, Rangers, Infielder
6. Shelby Miller, Cardinals, Pitcher
I'm going to temporarily drop Danny Salazar, Trevor Rosenthal, and even though he got one second place vote last round, Martin Perez.
Temporarily Dropped- Nolan Arenado 0 votes (round 5), Martin Perez 1 vote (round 6), Danny Salazar 0 votes (round 6), Trevor Rosenthal 0 votes (round 6)
I'm going to put Chris Archer back on the ballot. I'm going to put Tony Cingrani and Christian Yelich on for the first time. I'm going to hold off on adding Lagares even though he got one second place vote, although I will give him a test in the next couple of rounds.o
So who is the seventh best prospect for future performance among last year's rookies? If any clarification is needed, we are essentially rating this group of players for their future as if they were still prospects, the same as we did last year when they had their rookie eligibility. As a reminder voting is by +1 for your #1 candidate, and +2 for your #2 candidate.
