Here is a look at some of the players that could be taken with the Braves top pick
Hitters
Richie Shaffer, 1B/3B, Clemson
Shaffer is a fast rising lefty with some power, but may have risen too far for him to be there at 21.
David Dahl, OF, Alabama HS
Dahl is a lefty with power and a big throwing arm. Polished player that could move quickly.
Tyler Naquin, OF, Texas A&M
Toolsy college player with a big arm and lefty bat. Great swing and should hit for average.
Victor Roache, OF, Georgia Southern
Toolsy high-ceiling college outfielder that will fall due to a broken wrist this spring. Has huge potential but since he was in the mix for #1 he could have huge bonus demands too.
Lewis Brinson, OF, Georgia HS
Power/speed outfielder committed to play at Florida next year.
DJ Davis, OF, Mississippi HS
Fast rising outfielder that may have pushed himself into the first round. Has an 80 speed grade and potentially average power.
Addison Russell, SS, Florida HS
Good power and speed, may move to third but has improved his body this year and could potentially stick at short.
Gavin Cecchini, SS, Louisiana HS
Garin Cecchini's brother also has a promising bat and is likely to stick at short.
Courtney Hawkins, OF, Texas HS
Plus arm and speed, can play any OF spot. Very toolsy with good power.
Pitchers
Lance McCullers, Florida HS
A year ago was the projected top pick but has fallen since. Huge fastball and MLB bloodlines but some think his future is in relief.
Walker Weickel, Florida HS
Great stuff but delivery makes him inconsistent. Has fallen down the board a little this spring.
Chris Beck, Georgia Southern
Projected top 5 pick previously, he hasn't shown elite stuff like he did last summer and now could slip out of the first round.
Luke Sims, Georgia HS
Athletic local prospect with decent stuff.
