The Orioles own the #4, #65, and #99 picks in this draft. For now, I'd just like to discuss who we plan to pick with our first round pick. Once we get that down we can begin to target who we'd want with our later picks.

Now, with the #4 pick I firmly believe the Orioles should select a pitcher. I believe the only true impact bat at the top of the draft is Mike Zunino, and the O's are set at catcher longterm with Matt Wieters. Feel free to argue for Byron Buxton if you believe that we should select him if available, although I don't like him very much and will need some persuasion.

So now let's decide who the #1 player on our draft board is. With the #4 pick there's a chance that anyone could slip to us so it's worth mentioning every player, even the guys we think will be drafted. Personally, I love Kevin Gausman and if he's available I'd love to get him. Beyond him, I like Giolito a lot also, and think that he'll have an easy recovery from injury. I don't love Zimmer or Appel but both of them would also be solid picks I think. And as for Buxton, like I said, I'm not a fan of his but I could certainly be persuaded otherwise. So let me hear your thoughts!
