So we are done and after a grueling day here is what I came away with:
Matt Smoral, LHP, Ohio HS - Tall left-hander with a lot of projection left, throws his FB in the low to mid 90s with a chance to sit in the mid-90s with the aforementioned projection. Very much a project from a pitching sense but one that could end up paying big dividends. Sign-ability is a question mark.
Tanner Rahier, SS, California HS - One of the hotter names in the back end of the 1st round. His lauded for his tools and makeup and has been playing in a wood bat league since his sophomore year showing where his head is. He is a bit big for SS so he may move to a corner or even to 2nd base, but he has enough power to make the switch as well as a strong arm. He's one of the most sure HS bats in the class. Sign-ability is not a question, all indications are that he wants to play.
Chris Beck, RHP, Georgia Southern - He came into the year as one of the hot names after a strong showing in the cape. This spring he has struggled and his stuff has lacked the same bite/life he used to have. He is very much a project to get in sink again but perhaps we can save some dollars for Smoral.
D'Vone McClure, OF, Arkansas HS - Athletic OF with good tools across the board. He'll need to improve his instincts to stay in CF but he has bat speed so he will be fine in a corner. He's committed to Arkansas so he may have some sign-ability questions.
Alec Asher, RHP, Polk County JC - This is an over-draft because I wanted to get someone signable considering my earlier picks. He has an injury history but has a hard fastball so perhaps he can dominate out of the bullpen.
