Now with the AP Exams over with, I am now able to put more focus into the draft. For this MOD I'll be focusing on picks 27 and 28, and I've narrowed it down to these players:
Joey Gallo, 1B- Gallo is known for his big power and big arm, and either qualities are valued by the Brewers. Although his calling card is the mega-power he brings with his bat, he also has a fallback option as a power pitcher whose fastball is capable of reaching triple-digits. I think the Brewers would be fine with those qualities.
Trey Williams, 3B- Williams has been falling due to perceived attitude issues, which could be overblown, and a lack of great success for his senior year. The talent he brings to the table, however, is undeniable. He has great bat speed that could generate tremendous power. He also brings solid defense to third. The Brewers value position players with big power and Williams fits that description.
Walker Weickel, P- He's big, projectable, and has good stuff, with a fastball in the low-90s, a plus changeup, and a solid 12-6 curveball. If he manages to fill out and increase velocity, he can turn out to be a workhorse #2 starter.
Addison Russell, SS- At first there were doubts to whether he can stick at SS, but ever since he lost 20Ibs and got in better shape, more and more people are starting to believe that he can stick at SS. He has solid defense in the infield and has a great bat that could eventually translate into 20 HRs per season or more.
There will be a poll and the top 2 picks from the poll will be the primary candidates for pick 27 and 28.
