Been discussing this over at the BSL forums too, and I feel like I am alone in thinking the Orioles would prefer a pitcher to a hitter and a college one if the right guys are available.
I have the draft going Buxton, Zunino, Correa atm, leaving the Orioles picking from guys like Appel, Zimmer, Giolito, Gausman and Wacha.
The risk w/ Giolito, both w/injuries and the new pay structure takes him off my list, and I rank the rest of the top pitchers Appel, Gausman, Wacha, Zimmer.
I would take Correa or Buxton if Appel and Gausman are gone.
If the Orioles do wind up with a HSer in the first I think a college bat that is a reliable signing would have to be the priority in the 2nd and maybe the 3rd.
So.. The way I am leaning at the moment Is Appel/Gausman, HS Bat, BPA (probably a college bat.
If we decide that the Orioles take Correa or Buxton than I would see them going with a college arm in the 2nd and a college hitter in the 3rd
If we decide that Giolito is the best option than I believe they go with a pair of college bats to follow, both financially and for balance.
Anyone thoughts?
