Don’t get me wrong, I love Jose Campoe and Justin Nicolino. I went and saw both of them pitch in Everettt last year. I was just wondering if anybody out there wants to present a rational argument as to why Taylor Jungmann can’t get a vote from anybody but me practiaclly?

Tj went 32 and 9, with a 1.85 ERA over three years at UT. He got increasingly better and, more durable. He didn’t allow many homers. His walks improved (2.3 per 9 l;ast year). The K’s went down in his senoir year but he still Kd a lot of guys (126 Ks in 141 IP).

Jungmann also, over a three -year -period, allowed a ridiculously low amount of hits! He allowed 234 hits in 356 innings in college for, a 5.92 per 9 inning rate. I suspect this is why some people don’t like him. He may or, may not have gotten some luck in this regard but, I’d hardly think it is a reason to knock him down is it? Not allowing hits = good thing for pitcher!

Some I have heard do not like his mechanics either but, he has been durable. The Brewers scouts took a look at him and took him 12th. He was also picked ahead of and, pitched quite a bit better than Sonny Gray.

Can this fella get some love here or, at least a good reason why not? His feelings are really hurt right now guys :)

He feels better now, thanks :)

I wonder if some people who like Wieland, who haven’t seen him. wopuld like him as much if they saw this….

… video of him. Its a good video of him and, he pitched well. I just thought the stuff/delivery didn’t look special to me.

Som,e good stuff on Leonys Martin here too.

SP vs RP

I 100% understand the argument that a SP is more valuable than a RP. 200 quality innings will always trump 80. Having said that, if you have a REALLY good RP prospect, then they should be compared lesser with their comparable SP. Came out strange, but what I mean is an elite RP prospect should come out behind an elite SP prospect, but ahead of a quality SP who profiles as a mid-back rotation guy. Reed has the stuff to be a shut-down, elite closer. He is not in the same ballpark as a Hultzen/Turner/Miller/Bauer, etc….. but I believe relievers tend to get excessively dinged on these lists.
