The Astros signed Tomas Lopez for $70,000 out of the Dominican Prospect League.
The Mariners signed Oliver Ascencio out to the DPL. He is a big lefty that pitched in the DPL All-Star Game this year.
The Royals signed LHP Sandy Garces, a converted OF who can touch 91.

College Baseball Daily is up to #19 on their countdown with Barrett Barnes. Buck Farmer, Austin Maddox and Branden Kline were 20, 21 and 22.

Steve Nyisztor has left the Rutgers baseball program after being declared academically ineligible. He didn't play much last year but had a great freshman year. It will be interesting to see where he plays, if at all this spring and where he lands in the draft.
