Kyle Seager Called Up To Mariners
Former third round pick and UNC teammate with Dustin Ackley, Seager destroyed A+, AA and AAA ball.
He'll likely play 3B unless the team feels Dustin Ackley can't handle 2B, Seager's natural position. If he can hit like he did in the minors, he should see a lot of playing time.
Fans such as myself have been singing his praises, especially recently, as he has been one of the hottest prospects in baseball recently.

Not to nitpick, but have you watched Ackley play 2B or are you just riding along with
national media who has this notion that Ackley can’t play 2B??
The guy is a second basemen, anybody who has watched him over the last two to three months knows this. He’s made like one error in the last 40-50 games and has shown fine range and ability to turn the double play. There is no reason to believe he can’t be an adequate 2B.
Seen him play a little 2B
Not enough to make an assessment. All I said was Seager could play 2B if Ackley cannot, because it is Seager’s natural position. I’m not accusing Ackley of being a poor defender, just outlining the situation for Seager and his chances of getting on the field.
Keith Law said there was next to no shot he sticks though, right?
In related news, Drew Pomeranz is almost certianly a future reliever due to a conversation Law had with a sole scout apparently.
Just having a little fun. I’ve seen quite a bit of Dustin Ackley since his promotion & he doesn’t look at all out of place. Hardly scientific, but the athleticism is ample & he profiles well there so hopefully he continues to progress.
Bye Bye
It was nice knowing ya Chone Figgins. Maybe you can hook on with a slow pitch church league softball team that plays a doubleheader every Tuesday night.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again.
but Figgins was one of many genius moves made by them...

Some of us thought it looked pretty stupid in prospect too.

I dont know much about Seager
But I’m definitely looking forward to seeing him hit tonight and see what all the hype is about. Offensively, does he profile similarly to Martin Prado? That would make him a solid bat for the Ms lineup.

Seems like a decent comp
I keep thinking Prado will hit for more power than he has, and he still might, but what we’ve seen out of Prado so far seems to be a solid 75th percentile projection for Seager.
