El Toro is back.
Pedro Alvarez has been called back up to the big-league squad according to a
tweet by Tim Dierkes. No word yet on whether or not he will play tonight. He had been hitting much better in AAA of late, and fan reports over at bucsdugout.com think he's in much better shape, has reworked his approach, and has gained confidence in his swing again. Simply put, the
Pirates shouldn't (fingers crossed) see the abysmal Pedro they saw earlier this year.
He's gonna have a tough time, as far as pitchers go, as the Pirates square off against the Braves and Phillies over the next two series. Hopefully (as a Pirates fan) he comes out strong and goes on to have an excellent rest of the season and a solid career.
