Trade

Offer is Jordan Zimmermann for Brandon Belt and Alex Gordon.  18 team Dynasty league with no keeper limitations. I think Zimm is a future top 10 pitcher, while Belt and Gordon are mid-level players at best.

Starting five pitchers, 3 OF.  I am out of it this year (badly).  Leaves me with Tex and no prospects at 1B, J.Upton, Snider, Coghlan, Huff, Bourgeios at OF with Parker (Col) and Robinson (LA) on my MiLB roster.

Ideally Huff, Rolen, Peavy, Soto and Oswalt all will be dealt as well, not that it really changes this deal.  I LOVE Zimmermann, but dont think I need him.  I will be left with  Greinke, Strasburg. Beachy, Parker, S.Miller, Holland, Garza, Dwyer, Delgado, Pomeranz, N. Ramirez, Sale and Duffy as my pitching.

Which side are you?

It’s not perfectly clear from the post, but if you are getting Zimmermann, no way in hell. If you are giving up Zimmermann, I’d do it in a heartbeat. I completely disagree that he will ever sniff the top 10.

I think top 10 pitcher for Zimm is quite a stretch.

At the same time, I see Belt as more than a “mid-level player at best”. Who knows with Gordon? I thought he was breaking out earlier this year, but don’t know now.

Either way, Betl and Gordon >>>>>> J Zimmermann in my book.

Belt is mid-level?

This guy looks like a .300+ hitter with power in the majors. Zimm’s k’s have declined big time this season. He has gone from 9.1 k/9 as a rookie to 6.5 k/9 this year. That doesn’t seem like a future top 10 pitcher to me. I would take the hitters without question.

This is why I ask you people

I fall out of love/in love with players too easily

i wouldn't do belt or gordon

straight-up for zimmerman, much less both.

I would do Gordon straight up

I’d have to think about Belt.

No way in the world I would ever package both for Zimm, unless you are talking about the 1 “n” Zimm.

I would do it

Gordon should never play for a contender, and the only thing that matters are players that help a contender. Belt is good but he plays an easy position to fill.

And Zimm does?

Being on a good team means a whole lot more for a pitcher than a hitter, and I don’t see the Nats competing for playoff spots anytime soon.
