Could John (or someone) look into a high school kid named Amir Garrett?

One of the top basketball recruits in the nation, signed a LOI to play hoops at St Johns. Hasn't played organized baseball in two years but is a 6'5" lefty pitcher. Is working out in front of scouts and supposedly up to 93mph.

I saw the kid at a few showcases summer of 2009 and I thought he was a sure fire 1st round pick back then. Tall, lean, loose and athletic. Pretty much the ultimate pitchers frame. Throwing in the low to mid 90s from the left side gives a lot from a GM to dream on

Anyone have more info other than the few articles I've read on the internet?
