+1 for Cox
After Matt Davidson finally went off, it seems like the remaining prospects are a tier or so below. I’ll go with the fairly safe floor of Zack Cox.
+1
Best comp is Ryan Braun and he is pretty dam^ good

He's got nice raw power
But that’s about where a Ryan Braun-Grichuk comparison would end for me. At least at this point. I’m surprised he’s on this listing honestly.
his combo of power/speed/defense
I see him as a guy who has the ability to be an average to slightly above average CF, and he’s got a pretty good bat to go with that. I could see him as a guy with above average power, decent contact/walk rates, but with quite a few K’s. If he can limit the amount of strikeouts he has, than i could really see him becoming a pretty good player.
will look at him more tonight
i always thought of him as a slightly below average bat in a COF spot with average defense…so will see what more I can glean about him before I vote of anyone. I don’t really like any of the guys outside Ramos & Viciedo (due to their proximity to the majors), so looking for good votes from here on out
yeah, it's benson or ramos for me
those are my top two. i’m really not a supporter of Viciedo, don’t see all that much to like about the guy.
from previous round(s), limit 10 - please rank or suggest more names...these are my personal rankings fwiw
cesar puello
brent morel
johnny giavotella
ben revere
gary brown
jonathan villar
donovan tate
christian yelich
delino deshields
alex liddi
Why so high on Villar?
Must be solely on scouting, because his results so far have been terrible. I guess I am a bit more cautious with that type. And Puello, as a right fielder with no power, not a big fan – can he move to center? Might move him up in my mind.
My next ten:
Chris Nelson
Drew Cumberland
Johnny Giavotella
Ryan Lavarnway
Alex Liddi
Oswaldo Arcia
Anthony Gose
Charlie Blackmon
Kentrail Davis
Chun-Hsiu Chen

I cut Jonathan Villar a little more slack than some
There are contact issues, but I like his frame & he has plus defensive potential. I think he could add power actually too (nothing earth shattering, but I don’t think he’s Elvis Andrus in terms of the power tool). He’s also a young player for the levels at which he’s competed thus far (not unlike an Anthony Gose actually) so I wouldn’t go so far as to classify his results as abolutely terrible. He could go either way though, that’s for sure, & I’m sort of surprised that he was a BA Top 100 prospect at this point (I don’t believe he’s that superior to Jio Mier, if at all). I do think he should be in consideration pretty soon on this poll though considering his upside & some of the names being bantered about also.
Randal Grichuk
No body here has higher upside

Martinez love
I was high on Martinez myself, but after hearing about the arthritis in his knee already, I had to knock him down quite a ways. How are those voting for him factoring this in? Do you expect him to still produce and be an effective fielder as his knee gets worse? To me, this is a race of reaching peak vs. being debilitated by arthritis, and I have to lean towards the arthritis kicking in before he has a very productive career.

with only 19 votes cast, 2 "mets" votes makes a big difference
just going off the voters “screen name”, and there is another Yankees – NY bias – voter in that mix of 5 as well.
I still havent voted, but I like Martinez’s upside and always thought his injuries were due to one-off cases and bad team mgmt.
If there are true reports about chronic arthritis, I think a link would be helpful to the community of voters that have still not cast their ballot
Here
Google Fernando Martinez and Arthristis. Many links, here’s one:
http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/tag/_/name/fernando-martinez
“Martinez recently has dealt with an arthritic knee, which threatens to persist throughout his career.”
“Fernando Martinez had to stop playing with Escogido in the Dominican winter league after one game because of pain in the 22-year-old’s arthritic right knee.”

“Bad news: Martinez has a condition that’s not going away. He’ll have to manage the arthritis for the rest of his baseball career and beyond. There is no cure.”
