"We did a lot of good things last year, and now we've got Julio ... That does nothing but improve the offense, and we expect to do better. That's our goal, to lead the NFL in everything. Every offensive category." -Roddy White

the 15th and 20th ranked positional prospects are 30th and 40th here, respectively.
a 1:1 ratio?
What happened to ‘there’s no such thing as a pitching prospect’?
It looks like the list is starting to move closer to what I would expect with just two pitchers before we get to the 25th ranked position player at #47 overall. I’m sure the fact that John makes a top 50 hitters and top 50 pitchers list in his book is a factor, but I’d expect to see something closer to 60% hitter, 40% pitchers at the very least.
i think
the pitching crop is widely regarded as being above normal, whereas the hitting crop is probably below normal
that’s probably what has allowed for such a close 50:50 ratio so far

Agreed
There was a lot of good pitching added in this past draft. Also, I will contend that the back half of the top 100 will probably lean more position player, and 101-150 even more so. I see there being much more depth (B-/B) in positional prospects this year than pitching prospects, with it being pretty even on the elite level (B+ and up).
