"We did a lot of good things last year, and now we've got Julio ... That does nothing but improve the offense, and we expect to do better. That's our goal, to lead the NFL in everything. Every offensive category." -Roddy White

Luis Heredia
Super young, serious upside to go with some pretty serious command issues … but ceiling baby!
he's next in line
on the tester list.

Adonys Cardona
Belongs in the same conversation as Heredia, no? Either way, way too early for either in my opinion
I think
Heredia has a better scouting report between the two by a fairly wide margin, mainly due to his more advanced secondaries. That’s at least the impression I’ve been left with, despite the similar signing bonuses.
FWIW Klaw had Heredia at #46 on his mid-season top 50 last year.

Could well be
I haven’t read all that much on Heredia. I was just going off similar age, similar bonus, GCL stats (for what little they’re worth).
Anyone else have any thoughts?
He got a 5 star rating from KG at BP
Ahead of Bell (5 star) and Marte (4 star) on his list.

Cardona
is a very good prospect, but I was under the impression that Heredia was the best pitching prospect since Yona hands down. I don’t say that as a biased Pirates fan either, that was just what I gathered while researching him prior to the Pirates even signing him.
The reason his bonus was “low” is because the Pirates dealt directly with the Mexican team he pitched for instead of him and the Pirates have very good ties with that team. In that sense, Heredia was actually closer to be posted than an IFA.

*Ynoa
And look how well that turned out. I think that makes people a bit more skeptical, unfairly or not. I’d rather give Heredia a chance to live up to the hype first.

Ynoa
hasn’t worked out because his arm fell off. Heredia made it thru a season completely healthy, so he’s already past that point.

Think Molina will win this one
But next vote will be pretty interesting. Seems wide open at this point. I will be going with Betances myself.

Nestor Molina wins this one.
