Possible oversights
Most of the names that are on our watchlist that aren’t here are in the lowest levels or olderish players for the level… except for:
Adrian Sanchez, 2B
Adrian Nieto, C
Taylor Jordan, RHP
One exception I might make among the “olderish” is for Justin Bloxom, who put up horrid defensive numbers but was played out of position all year long as the organization, but offensively showed some pop.
+1
I’d like to see Bloxom added, I think he could potentially be a good bench guy, but would also be interested in your thoughts on Taylor Jordan.
Ross Detwiler will have a breakout year...Believe It!...and I'm serious this time!
Well prior to learning he had TJ...
…I liked what he had to offer as a 21-y.o. when I saw him pitch in Burlington in June 2010, and I had predicted he might do well enough to split time between Hagerstown and Potomac. I knew he had gotten hurt but this is the first I’ve heard of him having surgery.
I know he's not on the Nats anymore and a little off topic
but does anyone think Meyers has a chance to stick with the Yankees.
unfortunately
I think he has a good shot at becoming a quality bullpen guy. Excellent command. Stuff is obviously not a plus, but he’s pretty much Tom Milone-lite in a good way.
Milone, but in a right-handed sort of way :-)
I think Meyers has a shot to stick there, but no more than 1 in 3 or so. There’s a lot of RHP jockeying for the “end of the bullpen” slots. I think that of the two Rule 5 pitchers they took Cabral has the better chance, because the Yankees have been desperate for LHRP the last couple of years. If you figure that Rivera, Robertson, Soriano and Chamberlain have four spots nailed down, then you add one or two spots for left-handed pitching, there are only one or two spots open for some combination of Meyers, Kontos, Mitchell, Noesi, Phelps, Wade and Whelan.
I love Brian Goodwin.
I think he’s a star in the making.
Eh
we will see. Great pick for the Nats though.

not sure about the "star" part
but as a UNC alum/fan, I can say that his stats are interesting:
2010 he had a 45:49 BB:K ratio with a OPS of .920 and 7 SB in 9 attempts in his only total season in Chapel Hill.
I like him, but he doesn’t steal enough to be considered a “burner”, nor does he hit well enough to be considered a “bat”. A tweener? We’ll see how he develops, but he does have tools.

Some guys I think are missing
Hector Nelo-He was old for A+, but throws hard and put up good numbers
Justin Bloxom-Could be a good bench bat, he was a 1B playing at 3B, which should explain the terrible D number
Tylor Jordan-Was great till he got hurt
The rest of the names I have are more flyers/to old for the level. I listed them at the end
Mandel, Arnesen, Severino, Zinicola, Solano, Pena, VanAllen, Grisz, Demny, Testa, Graham, Applebee, Swynenberg, Sanchez, Frias, Holland and Garcia
MOAR SEVERINO!
Heh - Solano is on the 40 man roster but gets no love from Sickels :-)
And I will say that Zinicola gets some attention last year for a strong year in AA and AAA. He’s on the old side (26), though, and his previous record wasn’t very distinguished. It will be interesting to see how he does this year.
solano....good glove, can't hit. But he's on the 40-man. Sigh.

Well, I think he's on the 40 man roster to keep a team from keeping him as a backup catcher
A good glove, inexpensive catcher for 35-45 games a season could well stick on another team where a backup OF (Komatsu) might not. And letting him get picked would reduce the potential market for a position the Nationals have a lot of depth at right now. So I think the roster spot was more strategic than a statement of Solano’s upside.
I liked him in college but he wasn't too good in the NYP. Good arm though. Agree he has potential

Kind of not relevant
but since you’ve already written up the Brewers, and the Nationals were supposedly in the running for Norichika Aoki, what kind of grade would you have given him?
I'd recommend adding...
Estarlin Martinez and Wander Ramos. I’m surprised that they arent listed. Martinez was highly regarded out of the DR and had a very good year in the GCL at age 19, including very good plate discipline. Ramos was a bit old for the GCL but he had a great year stats-wise (1.054 OPS). Dont know how other phases of his game are, but he’s a 6’3 OFer, so perhaps his bat will play as a corner OF.

Man, JP Ramirez fell off of a cliff.
Went from on your list to not even mentioned on nationalsprospects watchlist.
Waiting to bang my drum in parades for the Nats and Caps.
Blake Monar
If you saw LHP Monar in instructs, I think you would have included him on this list. Impressed me with good FB life in the upper 80s-low 90s and solid command of 3 good pitches.
Holland
Neil Holland also put up very good summer numbers, so I’m surprised to see him left off the list too.
