If people could...

Give me your top 3 or 5 from the current tester pool (or anyone not currently on the main poll or not currently “in the rotation”). I’ve seen a lot of the same people mentioning 1 particular name, but that doesn’t really help much. I’d like to see a player’s name pop up on several lists ideally.

Mikie Mahtook, Willin Rosario, and Kolten Wong

. . . all have big league futures. I think Matt Adams is a guy who can really hit and, should get a look. Not liking a player because he is chubby is one thing but, he has hit over .300 in all five minor league stops and hit 32 home runs. Kid can really hit.

I’m going to need some other people to support Mahtook, Wong and, Rosario though. Come on ya’ll?

My 3...

Gyorko, Hamilton, Wheeler.

Also, Spangenburg and Szczur should get consideration for testers soon.

From the current tester pool you have above I have

Rymer Liriano, Javier Baez, Billy Hamilton, Eddie Rosario, Jonathan Schoop, Jedd Gyorko, Kolten Wong, in that order

"When the going gets tough, the tough get going."

At this point (roughly)

Marcell Ozuna-Mike Mahtook-Jonathan Schoop-Rymer Liriano-Willin Rosario are probably my Top 5 of the current tester pool.

The unlisted Brandon Jacobs is right there for me as well & isn’t far off from any & all of those guys (& ahead of at least a couple in all likelihood).

Next 5 not on the poll or in rotation

Jonathan Schoop, Garin Cecchini, Tim Wheeler, Derek Norris, Aaron Hicks. After those guys, the next three names in the tester list I like are Kolten Wong, Jedd Gyorko, and Wilin Rosario.

Singleton

Not sure why all the love for these other guys over Singleton, who wasn’t even listed as a candidate. Let’s not forget about age/level … As a for instance – Singleton played at Hi-A at the same age as Yelich in Low-A., has a much higher power upside and neither plays what you might call a premium position. As Sickels says, Singleton is a B+ possibly an A- an still an elite prospect.

After Cuthbert

Singleton and Springer are neck and neck for me

by killa on Dec 1, 2011 4:27 PM EST up reply actions

Agree

Jon Singleton is #1 for me right now with a bullet and to quote Mickey Dolenz, ’I’m a believer’. It gets muddier after that in my opinion though with about 8-10 cats closely bunched.

Cuthbert vs. Yelich

Top two right now. If you voted for someone else, who would you pick from these two? I would go with Yelich personally.

yelich

reminds me of kotchman a bit… not the one who bats 340..

Cuthbert and Yelich, followed by either Singleton, Gose or maybe even Choice
