Who wins this trade?

Greetings to all here at MLB. I am a rookie poster but have been an avid reader for almost a year now. I'm in a 80-player dynasty league with real-player salary caps. We recently switched from an OF/OF/OF format to a LF/CF/RF one. I made a trade that was not received well by the other owners in the league and wanted ya'll's opinion on it. Here it is:

Team 1 receives:

Matt Wieters

Andrew McCutchen

Team 2 receives:

Mike Napoli

Matt Moore

Thoughts?

I think the preferance is to make these fanshots?!

For what it’s worth, I think Team 1 is a clear winner, especially since you mentioned the designation of outfielders, so of course someone won’t be happy. Hard to argue though if Team 2 has a reasonable backup for Cutch and feels like they need the pitching moore :)

Sorry, like I said, I’m a rookie poster. No clue what fanshots are, so apologies if this is in the wrong section.

fyi

There is no such policy or preference. When you say that you have no clue what Fanshots are, that puts you in the same boat as just about everybody else here, including me.

Cutch's backup

is Bourjos. Both are CFers. The outfield would look like this:
LF-Morrison
CF-Bourjos
RF-J. Upton

Pitching was a weak spot. Team 2’s rotation consisted of Lincecum, Haren, Zimmermann, Ogando, Colby Lewis, Oswalt, Nolasco, Bud Norris, Matt Harrison, Garcia, Colon, and Eovaldi

I'm not really sure

Moore could be dominant, so to give up McCutchen for him isn’t the worst thing ever. I’m not sure how Team 2 has weak pitching. How many team are in this league?

10 team

I’ll just come out and say that I’m Team 2 and that I’m also a big Rangers fan. So I guess I wanted to see if I was getting flak because I was trading for another Ranger or if it genuinely wasn’t a good trade, sort of an unbiased opinion from ya’ll.

And because I was the most active owner, I led in IP, was 2nd in Ks, QSs, and Ws, but was also last in Ls, 2nd to last in ERA, and third to last in WHIP. My relievers weren’t that bad. I acquired Harrison and Oswalt this offseason for Hak-Ju Lee, Alex Cobb, Will Middlebrooks, and Garrett Richards. But SP was definitely my weakness, and I think Moore truly has top-20 fantasy starter potential.

I guess I just

didn’t see the real big issue in trading two guys that should be hitting their primes yet hit under .260 for a guy who’s catcher-eligible and can put up 30+ homers, 100+ RBIs, and with a .280 average, all while reasonably priced AND a guy that could be a top-10 fantasy SP for the next 10 years.

It isn't a "real big issue" at all

but many owners will still complain because they like Wieters and/or Cutch. Your reasons for wanting the Texas hitter and likely stud pitcher are perfectly reasonable but someone will still nitpick and point out how much older Napoli is or how he might lose C elig., or focus on the fact that you were already 2nd in K’s and suggest you don’t need another strikeout pitcher like Moore.
This is exactly why so many sportswriters are against veto’ing of trades – you should be able to make a trade on as flimsy a reason as simply wanting Texas players!
