Rating last year's rookies-Community Prospect #16
After several rounds on the cusp, Danny Espinosa wins round 15. Our winners so far include:
1. Brett Lawrie, 3b Toronto Blue Jays (51%)
2, Eric Hosmer, 1b Kansas City Royals (57%)
3. Michael Pineda, P Seattle Mariners (38%)
4. Dustin Ackley, 2b Seattle Mariners (41%)
5. Desmond Jennings, of Tampa Bay Rays (47%)
6. Jeremy Hellickson, P Tampa Bay Rays (49%)
7. Freddie Freeman, 1B Atlanta Braves (45%)
8. Brandon Beachy, P Atlanta Braves (27%)
9. Brandon Belt, OF/!B San Francisco Giants (33%)
10. Mike Moustakas, 3b Kansas City Royals (38%)
11. Domonic Brown, of Philadelphia Phillies (32%) (70% runoff)
12. Jason Kipnis, 2b Cleveland Indians 29%
13. Cory Luebke, P San Diego Padres 19% (59% runoff)
14. Paul Goldschmidt, 1b Arizona Diamondbacks 26%
15. Danny Espinosa, 2b Washington Nationals 36%
The voting breakdown after Espnosa was: Craig Kimbrel 25%, Aroldis Chapman 14%, Chris Sale 11%, Allen Craig 7%, Mike Minor 4%, Jose Altuve 4%, Ivan Nova 4%, Danny Duffy 0%, Wison Ramos 0%, Dayan Viciedo 0%.
It was kind of a strange round with somewhat reduced voting because of the holiday, so I am goint to temporarily drop the standard to stay on the ballot to 4%, so we'll drop Wilson Ramos, Danny Duffy and Dayan Viciedo this round and keep everyone else We'll rotate back in Jordan Walden, JD Martinez, Mark Trumbo and Salvador Perez.
In rotation: Jemile Weeks 0% (round 12), Kyle Drabek 0% (round 12), Vance Worley 0% (round 13, Ben Revere 0% (round 13), Josh Collmenter 0% (round 13), Henderson Alvarez 3% (round 14), Kenley Jansen 0% (round 14), Lucas Duda 0% (round 14), Zach Britton 0% (round 14), Danny Duffy 0% (round 15), Wilson Ramos 0% (round 15), Dayan Viciedo 0% (round 15)
Having already shown some write in support last round it is an easy decision to give Allen Craig his first time on the ballot this round, leaving as future testers:
Juan Nicasio Alex Cobb, Jordan Lyles, Mke Carp, Jerry Sands and Aaron Crow.
As always voting is by +1 and there are places below to suggest testers or vote for players not currently on the ballot. I'm leaning toward Carp going on the ballot next round and am considering adding a second tester next round as well. Any suggestions, either among those listed or someone else?
Also, I am probably planning on taking this out to 25 rounds and then stopping, so with 15 rounds in the books, and far more than 10 between those on the ballot, in rotation, and lined up as testers, consider, when suggesting one, whether you could see yourself seriously considering voting for that player over the next 10 rounds.
So who is your number 15 prospect for future performance among last year's rookies?

"We did a lot of good things last year, and now we've got Julio ... That does nothing but improve the offense, and we expect to do better. That's our goal, to lead the NFL in everything. Every offensive category." -Roddy White
I just can't understand how there are relievers going ahead of a middle of the lineup type bat like Craig's

Because he's 27 and not actually as good as he looked this year
And in the case of Kimbrel you’ve got a guy coming off one of the most dominant seasons we’ve seen from any closer, let alone a guy in his first full big league season. Seriously, he posted just short of 15 K/9, a BB/9 under 4, and a 0.35 HR/9 rate.
No love
For a pretty good year. His minors numbers portended something good, and really the results are hard to argue. Quick thoughts on why folks are to looking at him as more of a potential solid regular?
Ramos
though I’m not sure if I can do this since he was just removed… but +1

you can vote for him
but a single vote won’t be enough to get him back on the ballot this fast.
Dee Gordon
Is a rational choice. He’s a SS, so even if he doesn’t hit he will still play based off his defense and speed. He has a better chance of sticking around for 8-10 years than some of these boom or bust bat only players at 1B/LF/RF.
For example, I have high hopes for Goldy, but I could easily see the guy being a 4A type
