Rating last year's rookies- Community Prospect #11 Runoff
The votes have been counted for round 11, but it is so close between Danny Espinosa and Domonic Brown (12-11 Brown) that we need a runoff to separate them, our first so far.
Going into last year, Brown was John's #2 hitting prospect with a straight A, while Espinosa was well behind, earning a "strong B" and the #38 slot.
On the other hand, despite a less than stellar batting average, Espinosa played the entire year in the majors in 2011, hitting for pretty good power and by Fangraphs estimate also making a significantly positive contribution defensively, that all combined for a 3.5 WAR season, far ahead of the value Brown contributed at the major league level this season..
So, who is the number 11 prospect for the performance we can expect from them going forward from here? Espinosa or Brown?

"We did a lot of good things last year, and now we've got Julio ... That does nothing but improve the offense, and we expect to do better. That's our goal, to lead the NFL in everything. Every offensive category." -Roddy White
looks like Espinosa supporters are late risers
(currently 10-2 Brown) It’s Brown for me as well, as the problems John pointed to on Espinosa going into last season—overaggressive, too many strikeouts, not enough walks were all still evident, so that even though Espinosa had the better year, I don’t think it is enough to make up for Brown’s better pedigree, tools and control of the strike zone.
