Mesoraco

I’m betting #8 will be the highest any reputable list has Meso.

Hardball Times

Has him at #5 (#6 technically, but they include Kipnis for some reason). They might not be one of the big 4, but still a fairly reputable source.

Probably

Might be just as much of a function of whom he was up against though. I’m not a huge fan of splitting up the pitchers and hitters like we have this year and last. But then again, we seem to have problems with every method we have tried.

I think you can put myers bat in with the likes of Harper and Trout

Yes, Myers has had problems with his knee in the past, but his bat is still a big plus.

I just dont see myself putting Bauer in the top ten or putting him in weith the likes of Shelby Miller, Teheran, moore

He's a straight A according to John Sickels
I am a total believer, and fully expect Bauer to be a number one starter. I would have picked him over Gerrit Cole. Despite the heavy UCLA workload, I don’t think his risk is any higher than any other pitcher his age, and it could be lower.

by auclairkeithbc on Nov 14, 2011 11:24 AM EST up reply actions

I would not have

I had Bauer behind Cole, Bundy and Starling going into the draft. His stuff isn’t quite on the same level as Cole or Bundy, and the advanced feel for pitching makes him look more dominant against college and low minor competition than he will likely be against MLB hitting.

Dealing specifically with the voting at hand, I’d rather have Myers in my organization. I’d take Cole, Bundy or Taillon over Myers, but not Bauer.

by guru4u on Nov 14, 2011 4:14 PM EST up reply actions

I'm calling this one

Bauer wins with 55.3% of the vote.

by auclairkeithbc on Nov 14, 2011 8:07 PM EST reply actions

This is the first remark of this type I've heard so far.

When there is a substantial lead and not many regular voters left (like once we get in the mid-70s), that is usually about it. Profar won with fewer total votes cast and that one lasted 24 hours. For Myers to close a 8 vote lead this deep in the voting is incredibly unlikely…less than 1 percent, I’d guess. Maybe if there was some type of flood from another site directing people here to influence the vote late, like in the 3 way runoff, someone could close that big a gap this late, but even then it would be tough.

Having said all that, if people think I’m moving too fast, I’ll slow it down. I’m just stopping things when they seem like clearly less than 1% chances to turn around.

by auclairkeithbc on Nov 14, 2011 8:34 PM EST up reply actions

I think you are doing fine

We have seen what type of response we get in a 24 hour period, and when it look unreasonable for that to change the current outcome, I am okay with speeding the process up so we can finish the list.
