Parmelee has a little higher upside
Better raw power. He’s a really interesting prospect . . .great example of why patience with prep draft picks is warranted as long as they’re doing some positive things. The Parmelee/Benson draft class is looking pretty sweet at the moment on the strength of those two.
That said, I think Moreland is a much safer player, if only because he has an established track record.
Moreland
I think Moreland can be more consistent, due to a better track record of contact ability. Parmalee is much more of a boom or bust type at this point, due to his contact ability, and hasn’t showed appreciably greater power or patience than Moreland.

Parmelee was a contact machine in SSS in MLB during the season's final month+
I’m not sure what the BABIP was and all that at the moment but it seemed like he put the ball in play A LOT and also showed suprising power, at least for me.

Parmelee always had great raw power but he had a Dunn-like approach until last year. They shortened up his swing and he made more contact starting last year, but lots of his game power evaporated. Now it looks like he’s getting the best of both worlds. I don’t think he’s a first-division starter at 1B, but he could have a nice career with a .280/.350/.500 peak season or two. Of course, he’s more than likely not to achieve that, but he’s certainly made himself a more interesting player than he was as recently as a few months ago.
Parmelee
His cup of coffee in September was the first time that I ever saw him live. What impressed me the most about him was approach. He seemed to have a pretty good plan and executed it well during his at bats and sprayed hits around the field. Didn’t seem to chase too often, walked as often as he struck out, and showed more power than I expected.
Following his numbers coming up he seemed like he would be a three outcomes guy, but he really looked like more of a complete hitter. Whatever the Twins did for adjustments over the past two years seem like they are paying off. I tend to agree with those that said he won’t be a first division regular, but has the potential to have a nice little career and will provide value the next several years while he is still cheap.
Not sure how that compares to Moreland.
