I wouldn't
let yourself getting talked into trading Romero for those packages. He is already there & is a very well-rounded pitcher. He is worth more than the offered packages.
This year?
I kind of like the Kipnis side of this but I’m not sure I believe he’ll play much MLB this year. Long term I like Kipnis more than Romero for sure.

I think you have three prospects already
that could end up as good or better than Kipnis really. Espinosa is MLB ready, Havens isn’t far off if he can get healthy, and Hamilton may be the best of the bunch(including Kipnis long term).

Yeah, I think I'm going nuts over my 2B for this year, despite having a young core of superstar talent.
Maybe I should just wait it out and hope I strike gold with a 2B on the cheap. I simply think my roster is good enough to win this year with a solid 2B.
I didn't even look at your MiLB roster
Yeah, I think Espinosa will do more for you this year than Kipnis and I agree with gatling that Hamilton could be better than Kipnis in the long run.

Romero’s downside is a few more years as a solid SP #2/#3, while he has “potential” to take things a step further.
I’d want a higher upside prospect than Kipnis as the centerpiece of the deal.
Sincerely,
A fellow Romero Dynasty owner
Fat man is no more,
Bursting on through Heaven's Door
Come on in, says Bill
BUT
2B is NOT deep and Kipnis is a stud. He is a DEFINITIVE upgrade over Lopez at a position that’s not very deep. If he drafts well, he can replace Romero with a cost-controlled 2B for a few years in Lipnis AND another Arm.

I like Kipnis a lot...
I think you could get a little more, but I would still consider the offers. I wouldn’t really want the pick though. It wasn’t really a strong class. If it is me, I hold on to him for a little longer to try and get more, but I think Kipnis ends up making the deal worth it eventually no matter who else you get. The reason I try and get more is his current value isn’t really on par with that of Romero.
ETHAN MARTIN!!!!
Not anywhere near enough for me to trade Romero
He has ace stuff when he is going right. If he finds some consistency from start to start, you’ll be kicking yourself for dealing him for either of those packages.

Dewey and KBR are just.......too........sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!
The Wolfpac is looking for new soldiers! Change your logo to the black and red!!!
He also has:
Chris Dwyer, Nick Hagadone, Jason Knapp, Chris Withrow, Ethan Martin, Graham Stoneburner, Josh Lindblom, and Garrett Richards.
Those guys could replace Wheeler, althoguh I think I like Wheeler best.
What do you think?
I think Wheeler is the best of them...
If you did do the trade, I wouldn’t replace Wheeler with any of these guys. But I also think you should hold onto Romero.
My thoughts
Kipnis and Espinosa are comparably valuable at middle infield. So I really don’t see why you have to trade a front end starter for a player (Kipnis), when you can just play Espinosa and keep the valuable pitcher (Romero). I just don’t see the upgrade at 2B, yet you are downgrading at pitching. Wheeler is irrelevant at this point, so far away, alot can go wrong between now and if he will ever be fantasy worthy. I don’t care for the #21 pick either. I think you’re underselling Romero to be honest.
Good luck with your decision either way dude.

but is Beckham still available? you wouldn’t trade Sanchez for him but would you consider trading Romero for him?

You still seem to be in the driver's seat with that good pitching
It seems like you really want Kipnis but Espinosa could replace Lopez to start the year whereas if you get Kipnis you are stuck starting off with Lopez and hoping Kipnis comes up AND performs.
Definitely not for Romero but can you trade Espinosa to get Kipnis?

Probably can't trade away Espy to get Kipnis. Not even sure who else he would expect along with Espy, and I don't think I'd be willing to give much more (I'm an Espinosa fan)
I’m just not sure how he’ll perform throughout 2011. Thinking I’m just gonna try and strike gold with Espy or a FA 2B this year and worry about it later.
This deal doesn’t seem to make sense for me.
Good plan I think
Glad to hear you like Espy…..I was beginning to think there were service issues or whatever that were keeping you from just replacing Lopez with Espy, keeping your fine pitchers, and simply waiting for a better deal when you your pitching was humming along and you had Chacin and Holland to plug in.
Targeting a guy similar to Sean Rodriguez or Neil Walker to support Espy is a lot easier than putting so much faith in a Kipnis who hasn’t played above AA I think!?
Starting Lopez would be a big concern but you have some nice options!

Yeah, already looked into Walker...The owner wants Jonathan Sanchez straight up.
No thanks…a bit steep for me.
S-Rod might be a nice guy to look into though.
Have Sanchez in one league but was still surprised to see the 3 era and 200 k
maybe it was a good thing Beck’s owner balked ha ha
again, you’re in a good position to wait it out till the price drops and you can give up a Harden or Leake for a 2B to compliment Espy.
good luck
