Fantasy Question: Help me cut someone

I hate to post a fantasy question here, but figured this site would lead to the most input & discussion from many of you who know much more about fringe prospects than I do.

I need to cut someone in a deep fantasy league.

I have narrowed it down to these guys:

Derrik Gibson, 2b/ss

Carlos Triunfel, 3b/ss

Ivan DeJesus, 2b

Ryan Flaherty, 2b/3b

Dave Filak, sp

Logan Verrett, sp

I am looking for the guy who has the least likely chance of contributing in the major leagues.

Thanks!!

First choice: DeJesus

Flaherty and Gibson might only be useful bench pieces, but for fantasy purposes, serve a much better role than DeJesus, who likely isn’t more than a defensive replacement at worst, or Rey Sanchez-type at best. In his one breakthrough season, 2008, his BABIP was an unsustainable .374. He has no other tool (SB, BB rate) that stands out.

Gibson would be my next guess – which hurts to say b/c I own both Gibson and Flaherty in a deep league, and might be forced to cut one of them myself?!? Don’t give up on Triunfel just yet.

I guess. He's a long way from me projecting his fantasy value.

Verrett wouldn’t be the one I’d cut, but none of these guys excite me fantasy wise right now.

He stands out to me among this group

Doesn’t have huge upside, but I can see solid mid-rotation guy in his future. He may even move into the first round if he has a good spring.

Flaherty > DeJesus?

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again.

I think so, yes...as a fantasy player

The only difference between Flaherty’s 2009 A-ball and 2010 high-A ball seasons is that he was a little unlucky – doubles went up by 10, HRs went down by 11. His ISO values were similar (.194 in ’09, .160 in ’10). His age is a definite minus, but I think he could still be a productive part-time player for the Cubbies.
