Westmoreland Keeper Question

Looking for some advice on whether to keep Westmoreland in my keeper league.  It is a 12 team league, standard categories, 14 MLB keepers, and up to 7 MiLB keepers.  We have a MLB auction and a MiLB draft based on the final team standings.  If you keep a MiLB player, then you would forfeit your 7th round pick.  If you keep two MiLB players, then you would forfeit your 6th and 7th round picks -- and so on.  Here are the guys that I project the other teams to keep (which is 42 MiLB players - one team is keeping Hellickson and Chapman on their MLB roster and Minor is on the MLB roster of another):

Hitters

Wilmer Flores
Grant Green
Brett Lawrie
Devaris Gordon
Freddie Freeman

Domonic Brown

Tim Beckham
Ben Revere
Jaff Decker
Dustin Ackley
Lonnie Chisenhall
Wil Myers
Derek Norris
Bobby Borchering
Mike Moustakas
Ryan Westmoreland
Nolan Arenado
Jesus Montero
Yonder Alonso
Matt Dominguez
James Darnell
Desmond Jennings
Eric Hosmer
Chris Carter
Brett Jackson
Mike Trout

Hank Conger

Tony Sanchez

Aaron Hicks

Miguel Sano

Nick Weglarz

Hak-Ju Lee

Pitchers

Martin Perez
Kyle Drabek

Jacob Turner

Mike Montgomery

Casey Kelly

Jennry Mejia

Julio Teheran
Jarrod Parker
Matt Moore
Shelby Miller

Because I won the league last year (and traded a few picks in the process), I won't be picking until pick #40 (I have picks #40 and #41 in the MiLB draft).  If I don't keep Westmoreland, I will also get to make pick #44.

Based on who the other teams are keeping, the available players in the MiLB draft, and where I would be drafting (#44 if I don't keep Westmoreland) -- would you keep Westmoreland or would you toss him back and draft someone else at #44?  I have my own thoughts, but wanted to check in with the community.

dump him

I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?

I think he's still trying to get a normal life on track

I don’t believe he’ll be relevant in baseball for awhile, if ever again.

Dewey and KBR are just.......too........sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!

depends

i have him in a keeper league too, but we have a 25player farm team and more teams.
i’m keeping him just as my way to root for him.
one of our owners has kept adenhart on his farm for 2yrs now and we all greatly respect him for that.

so if you’re asking if westmoreland as a prospect deserves to be kept, than no, not with your league settings. but as a fan i think he should be kept. i’m planning to keep him in my league for a while, i believed in him and drafted him so i’ll believe in him and keep him on my farm.

Pretty easy decision

12 teams x 7 minor leaguers per team = 84 prospects drafted.

Is Westmoreland one of the top 84 prospects in baseball? No. I really hope this kid does come back and make it to the bigs, but the odds are very much against him.

cut him

westmoreland should be cut but ONLY because your league is so shallow

if he comes back he would be a 5-tool threat WITH great plate discipline, if he never had surgery we might see him at a top 3 prospect right now

I'm keeping him

But our league has 16 teams with an average of 10+ prospects per team. So it’s a different story.
