I don't know why...
I find it so hard that include newly drafted prospects that had like a month in the league in their rankings.
This is why I love these lists
I didn’t realize that Perez, Romero and Taveras were THAT highly regarded.

I did - Carlos Perez is Awesome!!!!!!!!!
surprised to NOT see Nathan Roberts Twins OF on here at #19 or 20 kind of like Rosario on the GCL list…..
I called on the exact pitch - Joe Mauer's first career Home-Run at Target Field !!!
Why Oh Why did the D'Backs select A.J. Pollock over Mike Trout?

it's okay
But I have to be honest, where Baseball America puts these guys has no impact whatsoever on me.
well, let me clarify
It has no impact on my rankings. But I do like hearing about what they’re thinking as much as I do anybody else.
If there was one thing that surprised me, it was Arcia rating so highly. He had a great campaign, but you REALLY have to buy into that bat to have him that high.
i like the list from five years ago.

Go to BaseballAmerica.com
Scroll down the page a little bit and on the left side is a ‘Prospects’ section, in that section is a historical rankings page where you can see the past team/league top 10/20s.
The GCL 'Five Years Ago' list was interesting
Check the Top Five:
*1. Andrew McCutchen, of, Pirates
*2. Jay Bruce, of, Reds
*3. Chris Volstad, rhp, Marlins
*4. Elvis Andrus, ss, Braves
*5. Travis Wood, lhp, Reds
Tabata came in at #7 and AJax at #11. Not bad…

Not bad indeed.

Hard work always beats talent if talent doesn't work hard.
Mariners: "Morla", 'Vargas"

You were expecting Mieses?

Not sure what I was expecting really.
But, probably, yeah. Even if Morla has talent, I’m not sure about Garcia at all.

And by "probably, yeah" I mean that cynically.
I know Mieses was getting some undue overhype earlier by some folks. For me, I guess I developed an irrational mancrush on Tim Boyce.

Stuff/Age
This is BA. They’re not going to rank a 23-year-old righty with marginal velocity on a league top-20 unless he’s dominating AA/AAA, nor should they.
Morla by all accounts passes the eye test with flying colors. Scouts absolutely love him, despite the Ks.
I was a bit surprised to see Mieses left off, but I don’t see any reason to disagree with the list strongly. He’s also covered the Ms for a few years running now, so I have no doubt he did more than due diligence on the Pulaski crew.
Matt Eddy heaped a lot of praise on Morla:
Matthew Eddy: Bill, I wish I had an answer for you. Morla’s manager hinted that a light went on for the young third baseman when he began concentrating on hitting the ball harder and not farther. As it stands, his short track record is just about the only thing holding him down at No. 6. And if he were one or two years younger, I would have ranked Morla ahead of Arcia and Taveras because his defensive profile is more impressive. And that power!
