The Angels, looking for a boost to their underwhelming offense, called up Peter Bourjos from Salt Lake today. He's absolutely been on fire over the last month, with a .438/.474/.719 (yes, that's a 1.193 OPS) line in July. Obviously, the home run numbers are a figment of the Salt Lake/PCL imagination (he had 11 combined in his two years of non-inflated league play), but the guy makes great line-drive contact, has speed that's better than anyone but Trout in the system, and is a perfect match to Sciosciaball. He's a total clubhouse rat, the son of a scout, and has very good baseball acumen. Should be interesting to see if he can zap a little life into the club.
