Dynasty League Trade Advice Please!
I know I have come to the right place for questions about prospects in a dynasty league.
I am in a H2H, 18 team dynasty league. 30 man MLB roster, 25 man MiLB roster.
I am currently being offered:
Julio Borbon (3 Years left on his contract after this season) + Trey McNutt (5 year contract whenever I call him up) + Peter Bourjos (5 year contract whenever I call him up)
for
Chris Coghlan (5 year contract whenever he gets called up in our league)
I'm thinking it sounds like a no-brainer but I wanted to get some advice from you guys.
My minor League system looks like this: (I would also need to cut one of these guys so I am not over the limit. So any suggestions would be great!)
Austin Romine
Tony Sanchez
Yonder Alonso
Eric Hosmer
Chris Carter
Chris Coghlan
Michael Saunders
Edward Salcedo
Jiwan James
Ben Revere
Austin Jackson
Tim Wheeler
Madison Bumgarner
Jhoulys Chacin
Jeremy Hellickson
Dan Hudson
Aroldis Chapman
Drew Storen
David Phelps
Tim Melville
Junichi Tazawa
Jordan Lyles
Adrian Salcedo
Zach Von Rosenburg
Thanks for the help!

depends
this trade is borbon for coghlan pretty much so it depends on how your league is set up. is it a points league? how much does it value speed?
i’m not big on coghlan so i’m inclined to say borbon anyway but you need to expand a little with respect to the scoring format.
I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?
Coghlan is overrated, but Borbon isn't very good
Unless you’re really sold on McNutt and/or Bourjos I’d pass, but that’s just me. Also, whether or not you should do this deal very much depends on whether your team needs SB. If you need them, take it. If you have tons, don’t do the deal.
If you have to drop a minor leaguer…who the hell is Jiwan James? DROP

Top 10 next year. Keep.
top 10 on the phillies?
As for the trade, it just looks like a people-mover. I guess McNutt is an interesting arm.
It may be
a people-mover, but I don’t see it as a loss. It’s more of a risk/reward type of deal where I get McNutt and Bourjos for pretty much nothing since Coghlan and Borbon are almost similar.
I was joking about the top 10
looks like an guy to keep an eye on though.

He's still in A ball
That’s pretty far down the line to be worth anything in a fantasy league…

I just don't understand
how I can pass up on this offer.
Borbon isn’t great but he plays in a better lineup than Coghlan and his numbers are very similar to Coghlan’s too.
Why not take a swap of similar players and get 2 pretty good specs as well. I’m not saying Bourjos and/or McNutt are going to evolve into greatness, but even if they become everyday players, 3 for 1 ain’t bad.
Forget greatness
It’s a stretch to imagine either Bourjos becoming an everyday player. He’s a great defender, and he’s got all the intangibles you’d expect from the son of a scout. But even if he manages to post a big league OBP above 330 and therefore stays at the top of the lineup – not a sure thing at all – he’s only going to be a two category guy in the outfield, not a recipe for success in fantasy ball…
That said, I’d probably trade Coghlan for Borbon straight up if I was set at 2B next year (since that’s where Coghlan will be playing going into the future).

Whenever he gets called up in our league?
I need a clariification. Coghlan has accumulated over 500 ABs and is an everyday regular. Isn’t there a rule for promotion in you league at some point?
