Miguel Sano & Max Kepler Video

THIS POST IS BY RAVENSFAN3 of ORIOLESPROSPECTS.COM

I have video of Eddie Rasario, Julio Teheran, Devin Mesoraco, Luke Scott, Josh Fellhauer, Neftali Soto, Matt Skole, Derek Dietrich and Candido Pimentel on that channel as well. I also jotted down some notes here, for whatever they're worth.

Sano struck out three times, but as you can see, the ump had a huge strike zone. Kepler looked good, nice line drive swing and a great arm. Rosario robbed a home run, but I didn't catch it on camera, unfortunately.

Nice job

I’m really rooting for Max Kepler.

Sano really needs to quiet down that timing mechanism

No wonder he’s striking out so much in the GCL. Definitely needs to make an adjustment there.

Good stuff.

Sano does look a little wild but he’s young and full of energy. He’ll calm it down as he goes.

Really impressed by Kepler. Nice swing for such a young player.

Good stuff Jordan!

Hmm, nice lefty stroke by that #7 in a Twins jersey…

Speaking of which, what do you make of the boatload of $2MM+ bonuses going out this year? Seems like everyone’s either getting two mill or six figures, no middle ground.

I don't look so much at the amount of the money as the frequency

The international market is going to cost more than the draft market, that’s just the way it works when player rights aren’t controlled by a specific team.

As for the specific figures, honestly it’s hard to say. There’s so many variables there (many of them left unstated) that it’s hard to guess whether or why a player will sign for X amount of money. My primary guess would be that there’s an increasing number of people in other countries who recognize the desirability of foreign talent. Teams seem to be willing to pay up more in exchange for not getting into a bidding war, as well.
