I need your Help!!
I'm in a full keeper dynasty league and we have 24 teams.
I'm offered Andrew Mccutchen for Ubaldo Jimenez and i'm on the fence about what i should do.
The scoring is pretty even between hitting and pitching and for this league my team is pretty stacked and i have the second best record.
My team is listed below including my 30 minors

Based on the fact that you aren't asking about trades of minor league players, I would have to agree here.
But if you want my opinion, no deal.

no way
i think you need the starter more than you do the hitter. given the size of your league aces are also much harder to come by.
I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?

Thanks for advice!
I ended up rejected the trade
I wouldn't do it
Ubaldo’s stock is so high right now, you should be able to do much better than McCutchen. I like Cutch, but Ubaldo has quite a bit more value, in my opinion. You should be able to trade him for a real elite talent, and I don’t think Cutch is one or will ever be one without his power really developing

McCucthen is not an elite player?
Really? Look at his stats compared to other centerfielders and then think about that again. It is good value for Jimenez, but you need the pitching too bad right now. Accepting the deal would be aiming towards the future and declining would be for competing now.

Difference in league scoring?
First off, I don’t think LF / CF / RF matter in this scoring. If it did, the OP didn’t state it or list a distinction between OF spots when he listed his roster, so I’m going to go ahead and compare McCutchen to other outfielders, not CF.
In my current 16-team dynasty league, Mccutchen is currently ranked as the 30th best OF. Granted, we are a points-based system that doesn’t place much of an emphasis on steals (the OP didn’t post his scoring system), but Cutch is on pace for a .287 batting average, 94 runs, 54 RBI, 15 HR, 37 steals. Sub .800 OPS
The only part of that line that would even be considered above average would be the steals, and it’s not as though he’s single-handedly giving you an enormous advantage in that category like an ellsbury or Crawford type. He’s not even giving you the batting average of your typical speed / steals players.
McCutchen is a better real life player than fantasy player. there’s nothing about him in fantasy that screams elite, and certainly not a guy I’d trade a top 3 SP for

Scoring matters
In my 20 team league McCutchen is 22nd in total points (1 pt per base, run, rbi, 2 for SB, -1 for CS). Ubaldo is 2nd among pitchers, with 50% more total points. Even with some significant regression I don’t see them evening out. Now, we start fewer pitchers (5 of any type), which reduces some starter value, and I wouldnt make that deal even then. In a league with 4 SP slots I cant justify that move, especially with his OFs being pretty good already and him having a pretty crappy pitching staff w/o UJ
I wouldn't sell high on Ublado unless I was getting a near first rate OF,
That being said, I’d go after Braun, Holliday, or to a lesser extent Carlos Gonzalez or Josh Hamilton.
McCutchen is the equivalent of BJ Upton in terms of raw numbers minus batting average. If I’m trading a top 3 SP then I would want to try to maximize the deal, especially if I’m trading from my weaker part of my team.

I Need Help Too
Should I make this trade:
Send: Martin Prado and John Danks
Receive: Roy Oswalt, Dan Uggla, Alfonso Soriano
My outfield is already strong: Colby Rasmus, Nelson Cruz, Carlos Gonzalez, Brennan Boesch, Manny Ramirez. Add Soriano and that’s 6 guys for 3 OF spots and a UTIL spot.
I’d drop Miguel Montero after the trade and I’d drop Travis Wood or Alfredo Simon with Manny coming off the DL.
It’s a 1 year yahoo league.
I think I should do it because Oswalt for Danks is pretty much even although you could go with a slight edge to Oswalt since he’s in the NL and is a strong 2nd half performer.
Uggla and Soriano for Prado sounds like a steal but I’d be in trouble if Uggla goes back to hitting around .250. That’s what I’m really worried about. I think we may have seen the best from Uggla but you never know.
me too
But I would try to turn Simon or Wood into something first.
I would have but
Manny came back from the injury quickly and I couldn’t propose a trade til I dropped someone. I wound up dropping Wood as part of the trade(to even out my roster). Then I dropped Montero for Ramirez’s return. Then I dropped Simon for Edinson Volquez.
I had been figuring out a way to get Volquez for like a week. I was hoping that nobody would pick him up before his first start. I finally just came to the realization that Simon won’t get many save chances and he’s really not that great. Volquez will be better for me. I like having the fresh arm for the second half.
Actually I picked up Brett Anderson for Simon and stashed him on the DL then I picked up Volquez with the open spot. This way I can see what Volquez has(so far, so good). So I got Anderson and Volquez for Simon.
BTW, I made the trade. ;)
get a deep enough league..
And anything is possible. I’ actually traded for Blake Dewitt in my main league this year, and am starting him.
Even still.. I could think of better catchers to have in the entire major leagues and that's 32 teams - 2 catchers per team.
Rob Johnson is not one of the 64 best catchers in baseball.
