This is what I got...
Luhnow explained that the Cardinals are realigning their Minor League rotations for the second half, and will be switching to a five man rotation in Quad Cities. When the club had a chance to skip Miller and give the prized right-hander a few extra days of rest, they quickly jumped at the chance.
"We are being conservative, because it’s a lot for a young man to go out there," Luhnow said. "He had his own spot in the rotation. It’s a lot to go out there and pitch your first year of pro ball and instead of once a week, you’re pitching once every five days. We’re really trying to be careful with him, but he’s going to pitch all year and I think he’s going to be fine."

way too premature
shame on the indians for not letting him play the year at 1b. why bring in branyan? that was just ridiculous. what do they have to lose by letting him get regular mlb at bats. nothing!
I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?

Another year of service time maybe?
I totally agree with you though, I didn’t understand the need to spend money on Branyan to come in when it would have made more sense to give 1B to LaPorta and let him run with it.

I agree
nah
. . . he’s the closest to helping a major league team though. Andy LaRoche, your days as a starter are numbered Pal.
I think there are better hitting talents in the minors though. Heven’t we seen enough overated college hitters before we learn our lesson?
The best hitters are HS kids in the low minors, or in AA (Mike Moustakas), right about now.
Delgado
Will he get a call-up to AA soon? over the season and over May and June, in particular, he’s been as consistent as can be. Time for the next challenge, I think.
I think so too
I’d expect them to bring him up over the next few weeks

Vizcaino just got the call up from Rome
So until Delgado gets that promotion, Myrtle Beach is going to be running out Delgado, Teheran, Vizcaino, JJ Hoover, and Brett Oberholtzer. Wow

Hak-Ju Lee

Edinson Rincon

Am I the only one surprised at the unimpressive performances of him and Jonathan Galvez?
I was really excited by those Padre hitting prospects, but neither have been particularly productive in A ball this year.

That's another one
I do like his power and walk totals; obviously, his strikeouts will have to come way down to be a strong prospect

I know he’s old. I know you probably think he sucks.
He went 2-for-4 Wednesday and now is at 462/553/769 through his last 10 games.
Perhaps more telling: 39 ABs, 8 walks, 5 k

I'm just going to say this now, so when it doesn't happen, people can make fun of me
We’re looking at a Mark Reynolds here people.
You’re name has 2k9 in it — what are you some 8 year-old who makes Pillsbury Doughboy cookies and jerks off to that bullshit video game with Tim Lincecum on the cover--

Now if he could only start hiting for power again

Over 10 games
Over the season, he’s had a .190 ISOP. With a .400 BABIP, his OPS in AAA has been .917, meaning he’d probably be a somewhat above average hitter in AAA if he had a normal BABIP. Considering he’s managed to control his Ks in the minors every year, but not in the majors, I guess I’m just not yet convinced that this time is real

Think so
"The A's have to be setting some record this year for simultaneously maximizing team quality and player anonymity. I guess that’s sort of their thing though." - Luke in MN
Not sure if this is the case.
He is recovering from TJ. I’m sure they’ll give him another chance to start next year.
not sure on that
He’s actually 24 years old now and was basically a fastball/slider guy in the first place. He’d probably need 2-3 years of development time, and I’m doubting Oakland has any intention of waiting that long. If he’s healthy and his stuff is close/equal to what it was pre-TJ, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him with the major league team in September.
welp, no 6/10 thread... so some bros done work tonight
Carlos -- 3-4 , 2 2B, HR. sofa king good
LaPorta with another jack a day after hitting 3.
