Cardinals Scouting Director
I need to be somewhere at 2 PM so I’m gonna try to make my next pick. I will need someone to take over for the 3rd round pick. Any takers? Coolcat23 is my backup director but I don’t think he’s here.
No, no
go for it.
Share the enjoyment a little here.
fair enough
couldn’t keep all the Stanford commits on my board straight :)
Tough sign

This is how I counter the big money pick in Casty
I went with a bit of a reach, who doesn’t have too much leverage, who I’m still very very high on. Plus, I could develop him as a 2B initially if needed.

A friend of mine at UCLA said the Cubs have been heavily scouting them lately, especially during Rasmussen’s starts.

All out upside, eh?
You guys win. You can keep your little marked-out piece of internet territory. Spend your days communicating via keyboard with people too ugly for the real world and too nerdy for anyone to care, anyway. Your piece of land is here. Do the rest of civilization a favor and stay within its limits. You bore me. Have fun with your nightly sobs and screams into your pillow over your inability to attract a good mate, Radiohead. ~The Hooligan

this totally sounds like a White Sox pick
Unfortunately.
Not a fan?

just a reliever
Good upside as one, but you think the White Sox should be drafting relievers right now?
I think he has a shot at starting
Needs to develop the change obviously, but he has a shot.

I wouldn't be too sure
they’ve gone for upside in the second/third rounds lately

Chicago Cubs
2.15 (65) Mike Kvasnicka, C/OF, Minnesota
Totally don't see him landing here come draft day
SS Derek Dietrich was the guy I expected here.

if the Cubs get kvasnicka here
that is one hell of a draft pick!!!
Wow Blackburn makes nearly identical money as Baker does now....

Great game last night

When's somebody going to pull the trigger on Rosin?
"There ain’t much to being a ballplayer, if you’re a ballplayer." - Honus Wagner
He is a good prospect
but he was free falling a couple of weeks ago. I saw him as a 13th rounder in one though I am sure he is better than that
I meant for the team

Kvasnicka was terrible last night
I actually knocked him down my draft board.
Based on 1 game?
Sounds questionable

I know I shouldn't judge based on 1 game
But he really showed me a lack of pitch recognition.
Harry Carey
Too bad Harry Carey is not around for this one.

Almost took him over Rojas, Jr.
Went with upside because I know the A’s won’t. Saving my frustration for Monday.
Strong pick here though.

Rays just don't have the $$$ to sign all these kids
"There ain’t much to being a ballplayer, if you’re a ballplayer." - Honus Wagner
Okay...
Who spends more in the draft than the Rays on a year to year basis? AF has said, repeatedly, that they view this as a chance to add a ton of high upside talent, given the sheer number of picks they have this year. They’ll pay out, so long as the value for the money is there – remember, they gave out close to a $1M bonus to a 9th rounder last year, while still expecting to do $3M-$4M MORE than they spent for their first 2 rounds.
If anybody can
they can afford a boom or bust draft, just not sure if they could actually afford to pay all the guys
Tigers

Wow
That really was my next guy. Was pretty sure he’d fall, too.
I was close to taking Dietrich
But my gut told me that Smelter was a better choice.

I was Braves...
Ended up having to work all day on some emergency stuff.
Sincere apologies, glad someone was able to fill in well.
do you want to do the Braves 3rd Rounder
or do you want me to select then as well?
You can do it.
My head is spinning catching up and trying to see who is the top player on my board.
Thanks.
Braves so far
Have landed P/OF/3B
If there are any other areas you would like me to look or just BPA let me know
Twins
2.71 Matt Lipka SS Texas
"We're gonna do this f*ucking thing over again cuz I just f*cked it up.....oh, we're live, I didn't know that" Bert Blyleven
I would love either Gibbs or Skole at 72
Again you just keep rocking. Have you seen Piliere’s latest article. As a Ranger fan the possibility excites me. Top 15 becoming clear
Took a glance
Took a glance – I don’t think Choice drops to 15 & I don’t think Texas takes Whitson at 15, but we’ll see soon enought.

Whitson
Prob my favorite overall for Texas, given their circumstances.
And I’d love Vitek at 22.
Go Strangers.

I don't think Vitiek is there
at 22 but that would be great. Though I love the thought of Wimmers falling to the Rangers there.
C'mon wilriv.....CB or Holt

you put out enough clues over on MC

finally...
fanhouse has him going 14 to the Brewers now. Great value. He is easily the best prep lefty in the draft right now.
ETHAN MARTIN!!!!
Andy Seiler down on him too
- in latest ratings — Andy, your thoughts?

He's just not that good?
"There ain’t much to being a ballplayer, if you’re a ballplayer." - Honus Wagner
you want me to take yet another HS guy?? :)
there are a bunch of good prep stars I still like on the board
Los Angeles Angels
With pick 81, LAA selects Angelo Gumbs, OF from California HS.
great value at this spot
"There ain’t much to being a ballplayer, if you’re a ballplayer." - Honus Wagner
Yankees
SD says I need to take Kevin Munson unless someone falls. I really want Cisco or Smyly or even Dyson, but they aren’t considered fallers. I guess I have to say Dan Klein is a faller even though I am not a huge fan of this low celing pick. I wouldn’t say Klein is a real faller, but it it my only option here as he is ranked 44 by Andy Seiler.
2.32 is Dan Klein, RHP, UCLA
I could also take Yelich
but arm is really troubling
You dodged a bullet with Dyson – I’ve seen him pitch 3 games this year – I wouldn’t pick him before the 5th round.
"There ain’t much to being a ballplayer, if you’re a ballplayer." - Honus Wagner
+1
I wouldn’t touch him

I still prefer
Dyson over a reliever. I hate picking relievers early. But with Cisco and Smyly available that would’ve been great to get one.
