Sleeper Update List, M and N
Sleeper List Update, M and N.
Jeremy McBryde, RHP, San Diego Padres: Hasn't pitched this year.
Roman Mendez, RHP, Boston Red Sox: Got pounded in six starts in the Sally League, gave up 29 hits and 24 runs in 15 innings with 18/10 K/BB. Just demoted to Lowell in the NY-P, gave up six runs in three innings in his first start. This isn't going too well.
Diego Moreno, RHP, Pittsburgh Pirates: 1.37 ERA in 16 games for Bradenton in the Florida State League, 39/2 K/BB in 26 innings, 11 hits allowed. Promoted to Double-A Altoona, fanned two in his first inning of relief work, then went on the disabled list with strained rotator cuff. Unfortunate injury; he was pitching great.
Matt Nevarez, RHP, Houston Astros: Control problems and injury here, 5.11 ERA with 12/16 K/BB in 12 innings for Double-A Corpus Christi, missed much of May and early June on the DL.
David Newmann, LHP, Tampa Bay Rays: 3.71 ERA with 49/22 K/BB in 70 innings for Double-A Montgomery, 84 hits allowed, 2.17 GO/AO. I like the grounders and the control, but K/IP and H/IP have slipped compared to last year. I still think he's interesting.
Juan Nicasio, RHP, Colorado Rockies: 3.64 ERA with 79/17 K/BB in 84 innings for Class A Modesto, 88 hits allowed. Strong K/BB and K/IP ratio. Needs to be promoted to Double-A soon, he's already 23.
Hector Noesi, RHP, New York Yankees: 2.72 ERA with 53/6 K/BB in 43 innings for Tampa, resulting in promotion to Double-A Trenton, where he has a 2.31 ERA and a 29/5 K/BB in 35 innings. Looks great so far.

Nice Call On Moreno
I didn’t even know him coming into this year, but you seem to have done extremely well.
Same with Noesi, but he was more on the radar.
I was a huge Mendez fan, it’s kinda sad.
My Guys: Gillies, Pacheco, Drabek, Verlander, Ozuna, A Salcedo, S Rodriguez, and others.
McBryde will debut this week
He’s been rehabing in Arizona and is going to open in the desert while he gets his legs under him. He’s going to have to show he’s willing to really bust his butt to dodge the lazy tag some with the club have slapped on him, or he’s going to have a hard time leapfogging some of the younger talent that’s filling up rotations below San Antonio.
