Opening Day
Despite being awoken at 4:45 by my two year old and then spending time cleaning up puke, today is a good day, because it’s opening day.
To celebrate, I brought two dozen donuts into the office (half jelly, half glazed).
Can’t wait to get home and watch the DVR’ed Rockies game while everyone else is wasting time on that NCAA game.

The sun is shining...
and I’m not working today, Play Ball, Jays and Rangers!
This….is….the….best!
People will come
“The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America is ruled by it like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again. Oh, people will come, Ray. People will come most definitely come.”

"In our sun-down perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing "base," a certain game of ball. We wish such sights were more common among us. . . . Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms . . . the game of ball is glorious." - Walt Whitman, 1846
CPL
My computer crashed, can someone take over the CPL until I’m up and running again? Thanks in advance!

Yankees - Red Sox
I realize lots of people on this site think this rivalry is way over-hyped, but I love it. Girardi having Gardner steal home was awesome after Ellsbury’s steal against them last year. Not quite as ballsy as Ellsbury’s straight steal, but still…opening night, national audience, at Fenway, in your face.
’Course, they lost the game. Oops.
Am I the only one...
Who is getting the Tiger Woods press conference on ESPN and ESPN2 instead of baseball?
Because this is really pissing me off.
anyone see
Heyward’s AB/HR?
It was a thing of beauty.
Jason Heyward is the truth
I flipped the game on just in time to see him absolutely destroy that 2-0 pitch.

Rasmus starts off well.
Good sign, but I want to see him against lefties before I declare a breakout year.
In football, the object is for the quarterback, otherwise known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his recievers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use the shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy's defensive line.
In baseball the object is to go home! And to be safe! "I hope I'll be safe at home!"
